Prostate Cancer The Finish Line
It has now been 44 days of radiation therapy and Fuzzy is finished. I am happy and sad that it is over. Fuzzy made some wonderful friends during his treatment and will miss them now that our time together is over.
The PU-36 made its last trip through the seven angles calculated by Lynn. It completed its task smoothly and precisely. Fuzzy left it quietly waiting to work on saving another life by eradicating the cancer cells.
It made Fuzzy a little sad to walk out and back through the control room. These past few days Fuzzy has been giving out some of his nature prints to all the staff in appreciation for their work and also because Fuzzy wants to be remembered by them.
Well, chin up, JR and Fuzzy walk out the door to the parking lot for a rather quiet ride home. I will be back in four weeks for a visit with Dr.G. and then will see him in another three months. I will on those occasions make a concerted effort to pop my head around the corner and say a brief hello to whomever is there.
Fuzzy will still be recuperating from the effects of the radiation for another month. Dr.G. told me that the fatigue would slowly go away over the next few weeks and the other problems with urinating will also slowly go away. So it's off to the couch for a nap and when Fuzzy gets the results of the next PSA test he'll let you know.
